The University of Padua offers the three-year, 180-credit Laurea in Psychological Science in Padova, taught in English. For a useful psychology-degree comparison, distinguish the subject of a question from the method used to investigate it. An interesting observation is a starting point; the stronger comparison asks how observations are defined, measured and interpreted. Keep examples small enough that you can explain exactly what the evidence supports.

Basic Research Methods in Psychology is a six-credit first-year unit in this manifest. That is a real selected module, while the exercise below is independently devised and is not its syllabus or assessment.
When building a comparison sheet, place a broad topic beside a method question. For example, ask how a proposed observation would be recorded consistently, what would count as a different outcome and which alternative explanation remains possible. Keep those questions separate from administrative requirements. A course title alone cannot answer all of them.
Find the applicant category before the deadline
The official 2026/27 admission page provides separate calls for Italian entry qualifications, EU or equivalent applicants with foreign qualifications, and non-European applicants residing abroad with foreign qualifications. Record your intended entry year and qualification route before making an application calendar. Then identify which official call governs each action. Keep test booking, evidence submission, ranking and enrolment as separate rows. If two instructions seem inconsistent, retain their titles and dates and ask the university which applies to your situation.
The School distinguishes Psychological Science from the online-delivered Techniques and Methods in Psychological Science, while directing applicants to an English psychology entry test. Do not substitute the delivery mode or programme identity of one for the other. School selection guidance.
Original worked exercise: the wording changes the outcome
Consider an invented classification task involving ten fictional responses to the sentence I sometimes finish early. Definition A counts a response as early only when its stated finishing time is strictly before noon. Definition B also includes exactly noon. Neither is presented as a university method or a psychological instrument.
Suppose three responses specify a time before noon, two specify exactly noon, four specify later and one gives no usable time. Under A, three of the nine usable responses qualify: one third. Under B, five of the same nine qualify: about 55.6%. The underlying responses have not changed; the operational definition has.
Now include the unusable response in the denominator. The reported proportions become 30% and 50%. That is a different reporting convention. It does not reveal what the missing response would have said. Keep missingness explicit instead of quietly converting the response into a negative result.
Write a short coding rule before looking at the counts. It should define the boundary at noon, the treatment of missing information and the denominator. Then ask another reader to apply your rule to the same invented records. If you disagree, identify the ambiguous instruction before discussing the final percentage.
Finish by explaining which result you would report for a clearly stated question. Do not choose whichever definition produces the more impressive number. The purpose is to practise making a measurement choice visible, not to infer a person’s ability, health or character from a fictional task.

Does English delivery make the two psychology programmes interchangeable?
No. The School identifies separate programmes and specifically describes Techniques and Methods as online-delivered.
Is the selected table an approved individual study plan?
No. It is a short comparison aid. Use the official entrant manifest and university instructions for required activities and choices.
Can the exercise be used to diagnose someone?
No. Its definitions and responses are invented for an arithmetic and reporting task.
