Zhejiang University’s ZJUI Civil Engineering programme is based at its International Campus in Haining, China. It is independent of INTIAU. The institute states that undergraduate instruction is in English.
Separate the two universities’ requirements
The 2024-labelled Civil Engineering curriculum identifies a ZJU Bachelor of Engineering and a UIUC Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. It specifies additional ZJU study and separate UIUC residency and transfer conditions; two awards should not be assumed from enrolment alone.
The International Campus overview describes four years full-time. Its summary uses “BSc” for both universities, whereas the detailed curriculum distinguishes the award names above. Retain the detailed wording and ask which plan applies to your route.
Compare documents at the same level of detail. An introductory web summary is useful for orientation, while a requirement table identifies conditions that may be lost in a short label. Keep a note of the source edition instead of silently treating the two descriptions as identical.
How the published sequence develops
| Stage or component | Selected published study |
|---|---|
| First two years | Mathematics, physics, chemistry, theoretical and applied mechanics |
| Technical core | CEE 201 Systems Engineering and Economics; CEE 202 Engineering Risk and Uncertainty |
| Final two years | Primarily civil and environmental engineering; major and secondary concentrations |
| Selected subject example | CEE 330 Environmental Engineering: contaminants, treatment and quality control |
The campus description connects civil engineering with infrastructure, environmental protection and uncertain information. It considers bridges, buildings, dams, airports, tunnels and water distribution, including protection against floods, landslides and earthquakes. Completing such projects involves both technical analysis and cooperation across disciplines, rather than a single isolated calculation. It points readers to the full undergraduate handbook for curriculum details. These selections are a route through the published material, not an individual registration schedule.
Read the environmental engineering content
UIUC’s 2026–2027 CEE catalogue describes CEE 330 as three credit hours. It examines contaminant sources, movement and effects in air and water; biological, chemical and physical processes; air and water treatment operations; waste management; and environmental standards. Its chemistry prerequisite is CHEM 104 or CHEM 204.
This partner-university description gives concrete learning themes for the named course. It is not proof of a particular Haining section, teaching week or assessment. Obtain the relevant local course brief when planning study.
Original exercise: distinguish amount from concentration
Imagine a sealed paper example with no experiment to perform. Stream A carries 100 litres per minute at 4 milligrams per litre; B carries 200 litres per minute at 1 milligram per litre. Their stipulated contaminant flows are 400 and 200 milligrams per minute. With perfect mixing and no removal, the combined concentration is 600 divided by 300, or 2 milligrams per litre.
The simple average of the two concentrations would be 2.5, which ignores unequal flow. Explain that difference in one sentence. Then list the assumptions: simultaneous measurements, compatible units, complete mixing and no reaction. If a fictional treatment stage removes half the contaminant mass without changing flow, the outlet becomes 1 milligram per litre. This calculation is an original reasoning task, not a treatment design or a university assignment.
Use the correct applicant catalogue
ZJU’s 2026 international undergraduate guide directs applicants to separate Chinese- and English-taught programme catalogues, which may change. It requires eligible foreign citizenship, high-school completion, relevant language evidence and CSCA reporting. The general application period ended on 28 February 2026, with some programme-specific deadlines later. All cited 2026 dates are past on 17 October; this guide does not establish a 2027 opening or current ZJUI international intake.

Three useful clarifications
Are two degrees automatic?
No. Each university’s requirements must be met.
Is CEE 330’s catalogue a local timetable?
No. It describes course content, not a verified Haining section.
Does the 2026 notice establish a 2027 application?
No. Check the later cycle and exact programme catalogue.
Official sources checked 17 October 2026 are linked beside their claims.
