Korea University’s School of Psychology offers an undergraduate programme in Seoul, independently of INTIAU. Its undergraduate overview emphasises interdisciplinary learning and creative responses to social questions, rather than presenting psychology as a single method or topic.
Psychology can lead to different award routes
The official curriculum page distinguishes 문학사 and 이학사, Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science. For entrants from 2021, students apply for one award according to its curriculum requirements; they do not receive both automatically.
The school’s educational goals connect major study with general and interdisciplinary education, multiple psychological perspectives and practical problem-solving. These are educational aims. They should be assessed through the actual subjects, tasks and requirements rather than converted into a professional qualification or employment promise.
| Published component | Selected requirement |
|---|---|
| Required major study | 9 credits: Foundations of Psychology I and II; Psychological Statistics and Practice |
| Major electives | 33 credits, with different A/SA or S/SA subject distributions by award |
| Further study choice | Deepened major or another major; additional conditions apply |
Keep the award choice beside the subject classifications when planning study. Two students can share introductory courses while building different required distributions. A list of interesting subjects is therefore a starting point for comparison, not a substitute for the degree-specific audit.
What the foundations actually introduce
Foundations I, PSYC 201, introduces biological foundations, sensation, perception, learning, cognition and motivation. Foundations II, PSYC 202, includes development, personality, social, clinical and counselling psychology. These selected translations come from the published course descriptions, not a complete current syllabus or a claim about teaching language.
The distinction is useful when reading a prospectus: look for both the explanatory level and the evidence a course asks students to evaluate. An account of perception is not interchangeable with an account of a social setting, even where both concern behaviour. For each course of interest, note the question, the method and the kind of conclusion its evidence can support.
Original exercise: a percentage is not a causal result
Imagine two fictional summaries of the same stipulated memory puzzle. Group A records 8 successful attempts among 10; B records 12 among 20. A’s success proportion is 80%, B’s is 60%, a difference of 20 percentage points. B nevertheless has more successful attempts in absolute numbers. State both the denominator and the count.
The summaries do not say how groups were formed, whether puzzle conditions were identical or whether participants started with comparable experience. Thus the difference cannot by itself show that any training caused an improvement. Rewrite “A’s method works better” as a description of the supplied records, followed by the missing information. Use only the invented counts; no participants, questionnaire or external dataset are needed. This is an original reading task, not a psychology experiment or a Korea University assessment.
Completion status and application evidence
The school’s graduation guidance distinguishes expected graduation and course-completed status from an awarded qualification. An expected-graduation certificate can be issued during the final semester under its stated conditions. Completing coursework or being eligible to apply for early graduation is not, on its own, final degree approval.
The Fall 2026 international freshman guide set online applications for 2–27 March 2026, now past on 17 October. It also announced that the university’s online Korean level test would no longer be available from Spring 2027, requiring applicants to submit the official language evidence specified by the university. That dated announcement should not be mistaken for a newly verified Spring 2027 application window.
Check the current applicant guide and degree-specific curriculum together before making a plan. INTIAU’s Courses and Contact support broader subject exploration and general enquiries.
Three clarifications
Does studying psychology automatically produce both awards?
No. The published rules distinguish BA and BSc requirements and selection of one award.
Does course-completed status establish degree award?
No. Graduation status and approval must be checked separately.
Is the cited March application period still open?
No. It belongs to the past Fall 2026 cycle.
Official sources checked 17 October 2026 are linked at the relevant claims.
